Over the last few years we made some major renovations to the outside of our house. The outside is finally everything we’ve dreamed of but the inside still needs some updating. Fortunately, Marlee got a brand new room with our addition so I thought I would share her fun yet simple style! So here you go…Marlee’s tween girl room tour!

Keeping a neutral base
When we finished Marlee’s room, she requested a neutral grey wall color and I love how it turned out! The color we used is Passive by Sherwin Williams. All of her trim is white and most of her details! I love the idea of keeping a neutral base so as her taste changes, we can easily switch out decor!
I love the crisp white of her bedspread with the pops of color! We got her simple nightstand from Ikea and the gold lamp is from Target!
A place to work
Marlee knew she really wanted a desk in her knew room. A place for homework, journaling, makeup and more. We found this simple white desk from Ikea. I love that she turned this corning into her little inspiration and prayer corner!
A place for her collections
Every girl has collections of things, am I right? Books, body sprays, slime, pictures, you name it…a girl has more than one! So we picked up this GERBSY bookcase from Ikea so she would A. Have a place for all her collections and B. Have a safe, HIGH place to keep things from little hands! She styled this herself and I love it!
Soft and Cozy
Marlee has so many pillows in her room its crazy…but they come in handy for sleepovers! She has a stack in the corner along with some of her stuffed animals. Also, along with the small round mirror above her desk, we have this large standing mirror my step-dad salvaged from somewhere! The teal frame was her idea of course 🙂

Simple & Sweet gallery wall
Last but not least, we have her simple and sweet little gallery wall. Last year she asked for lots of room decor items for Christmas. She loved this pink letter board (which she just updated for Christmas!) and wooden sign as a gift from her Godmother! (Both from Hobby Lobby) The pink M we had she was little and it fit perfectly!
I can’t wait to see how this room evolves over the years! It has already seen many slumber parties, outfit changes, late nights and I am sure a few tears. This was her recovery room after scoliosis surgery and her place to relax after practice. I feel blessed that we can provide this space for her to call her own!
