Hi there! I’m Kristy and I’m the face and voice behind Love & Messiness. I am your everyday, average, Catholic momma from Ohio living a life full of love and messiness!
A bit about me: I married my high school sweetheart, Erik, two years out of school and he still makes me laugh until I cry! (Read our marriage story!) We have 7 amazing kids together ranging in age from 16-newborn. In June 2019, I became a stay-at-home mom for the first time and I have God and my husband to thank for this amazing adventure!
Other than being a wife and mother, I also have a graphic design degree and have always loved art! I opened my Etsy shop last year and it has been such a blessing for me!
My faith is also very important to me. I was raised Catholic but until a few years ago, never really ‘practiced’ the faith. I am proud to say my husband and I have became Catholic reverts and are raising our children as practicing Catholics. Jesus and Momma Mary have changed my life tremendously!
In April 2023 we welcomed our 7th child into the world, Agnes Rose.
The Love & Messiness Blog
Motherhood & Parenting
I am raising babies to tweens and I blog all about my experiences with that! I’ll share tips I have learned for school aged kids as well as pregnancy and breastfeeding tips and tricks. I love to share products that I love and that have worked for my family! I also dive a bit into motherhood emotions and handling day-to-day stresses.
Holidays & Traditions
We do birthdays and holidays on a budget around here so I share how we party using things we have around the house to save money! I also share on the blog all about our holiday traditions, family traditions and fun holiday & seasonal crafts for kids!
Catholic Faith
I am a cradle Catholic, recent revert and I love to share all that I have learned and am learning about our Catholic faith. My husband and I are doing everything we can to raise saints and I share how we do that in our day-to-day! Creating a domestic church is a huge passion of mine so I enjoy sharing ways we filter that into our home decor as well!
And much more!
At Love & Messiness, I share about our everyday life and just whatever is on my heart. I blog a bit about my favorite things, my pregnancy experiences, my family, food and recipes and more!
The L&M Free Resource Library
After years of blogging and creating fun resources for my readers and subscribers, I decided there needed to be on place for all these great resources that my readers can access endlessly. After some work and organization, I gathered all the freebies from my blog posts and exclusive newsletter giveaways to create the L&M Free Resource Library! This is a beautiful, simple space where you can download and use any of the resources we have ever offered. Enjoy a huge collection of free printables including: wall art prints, prayer printables, coloring pages, liturgical activities and more! This library is for you to use as much as you’d like…it’s limitless!
The LOVE & MESSINESS Shop
A few short years after I started my blog, I felt called to share my design skills and God’s Word with the world. I have always had a love for all things creative and actually have a college degree in graphic design. I used my skills at work but I wanted to create things that brought joy and life into my life. Around the same time I had a strong reversion to my Catholic faith and knew that I needed to share God’s love in someway. Being a huge introvert, I wasn’t sure how to do that but after some research and some certain God-winks, I found a way and in December of 2018, the Love & Messiness shop was born!
The Love & Messiness shop is full of easy-accessible Christian printable wall art. The benefit to digital download art is that it is easy and affordable! We offer everything from Catholic Saint quote prints, Scripture wall art, Catholic prayer prints and even Catholic kid printables to aid in catechesis.
Our shop features nearly 200 digital downloads including printable wall art, printable Catholic greeting cards, homeschool & catechesis resources for kids and Christian SVGs. Some of our best selling items are ‘How to Pray the Rosary for Kids‘, ‘Kids Printable Prayer Cards‘, and our Blessed Virgin Mary illustrations. All designed in the heart of my home by me!
The domestic church is extremely important. Home is the first and most important place to teach our children their faith. Visual reminders help to provide this and printable wall art can help with this. And whether you homeschool, teach religion classes or just want to aid your children, our Catholic Kids section is a must see!
