Lent has begun and although we are walking along with Christ to Calvary right now, us mothers always have to think ahead! Easter is one of our Church’s biggest celebrations and with Easter comes the Easter Bunny (at least in our house!). Staying on budget is super important so I thought I would share with you my list of Easter Basket Ideas for Under $10. Keep on reading for ideas for every age!

Easter Basket Ideas
We keep our Easter baskets pretty simple each year. We don’t like to gather a lot of ‘junk’ so I avoid giving useless gifts if I can! But I thrive on surprising the kiddos with sweet little surprises so I like to throw in a bit more than just candy. (Although there will be plenty of Reese’s eggs in those baskets!) I have kids of almost every age so I split up my ideas from teens & tweens down to baby! And the best part is all my recommendations are UNDER $10!!
Teen & Tween Easter Basket Ideas
As kids get older, they get a bit tricker to buy for! All they ever want is spending money but I have found that when I think about little treats they would like, but not think of, that’s what I go for!
For my daughter (who will be 14 right after Easter) I thought she would love lip glosses like these. The flavors are so yummy and she can throw one in every bag. I also included nail polish like this because it’s always nice to have a fresh color! New hair scrunchies like these are a fun idea too! Our girl is a reader too so I may throw in a good, teen novel like this one!
For my boys who are 11 & 12 I thought about a some fun little games like this ball or this hilarious card game. I think a new body spray is always nice (for everyone…boys are stinky!). My boys like these! And finally, I am dying for them to read this book series because it’s been highly recommended!

Easter Basket Ideas for Little Kids
We have a bit of a gap between kiddos so next we have our 5 (almost 6) year old daughter. Our sassy girl is going to love these lip balms! She is artsy so I picked her up one of these too! I may through in this fun puzzle book too. And for her book, I was recommended this one!
For our little guy who is 3, I am going to throw in this cool bubble set! I will also through in this fun set of sidewalk chalk because he loves being outside and doodling! A sweet bunny toy like this one will be a great companion for him when he sits to read his new book! (We love this series!)

Easter Baskets for Babies & Infants
It’s so much fun to have a baby in the house, especially around the holidays! They don’t really know any better, but the bigger kids get a kick out of seeing what the baby got in his basket! So I have fun putting it together the same as the others!
Some of my favorite things to add in Easter baskets for babies are books! These and this one are past favorite of ours and they are timeless! Also, since baby toys can get pretty slobbery and chewed up, I like to throw in some fresh ones. I thought this teether was so appropriate and this rattle was adorable too! Bath toys like these are always a great gift too!

Have Fun but Remember the Reason for the Season
I think playing the part of the Easter Bunny and surprising the kids with sweet treats is one of the many blessings of motherhood! But as we walk through Lent and lead up to Easter with our children, we speak of Jesus and his sacrifice daily. We will speak greatly of Jesus on Easter and celebrate Him in the days and weeks beyond because He is our Lord and Savior! Below is just a quick list of ways we try to keep our faith the center of Easter:
Tips for Keeping the Jesus the center of Easter:
- Add prayer cards for their favorite saints to their Easter baskets
- We do the Resurrection Eggs to keep the story of Easter fresh. Find them here!
- Challenge the kids to say a Hail Mary or Glory Be before eating their candy. Or add a simple ‘Thank you Jesus!’
- If you do the sacrifice bean jar, have them perform another good deed to take a jelly bean.
- Attend Mass together
