Making our house a home is a constant project and one that I am passionate about! My goal is for our home to be a safe and holy place for our children to dwell. This takes time and money, so after a little budgeting and saving, I finally have our walls updated with beautiful (and some functional) galleries full of family photos, holy words and gorgeous artwork. I poured my heart into these little bits of our home so I want to share a tour of our home with you to give you your own gallery wall ideas!

Gallery Wall Ideas
We have had blank walls for a long time or just the same decor that felt boring. I felt inspired recently so I shopped our home for what we had and went shopping to fill in the rest! I love hitting up Hobby Lobby when they have their 50% off framed art sales! Below are four areas of our home with gallery walls (and one shelf gallery display!). I linked everything I could to make finding them easy for you!
Shelf Gallery Wall Display
This might just be my favorite gallery wall in our home! I got the long shelf idea for the beautiful Vox Clara Family. (Check out her Instagram to see her beautiful shelf!) I enlisted my hubby to make the shelf of my dreams and he did! Although he did give me a look when I told him I wanted it to be about 7′ long! It turned out beautifully and so did the frames on the shelf! I knew I wanted a mix of family photos and holy images and words. When you walk into our home, there is no mistake what is most important to us! Below are the sources for my shelf gallery wall:
- GALLERY SHELF // My husband’s DIY, just simple pine boards!
- LARGE BLACK FRAMES // Ikea’s Ribba Frames that I have used over and over again
- OTHER FRAMES // Shopped from home!
- LARGE FAMILY PHOTOS // WhatNotShop Photography
- JOHN PAUL II QUOTE PRINT // Be A Heart Design
- SAINT JOSEPH LINE ILLUSTRATION // Love + Messiness Creative
- PRINCE OF PEACE CHRIST ILLUSTRATION // Fox & Pebble (The same one is gone but she has many other beautiful prints!)
- SACRED HEART OF JESUS FINE ART PRINT // AmyHeyseArt
- OUR LADY OF FATIMA WATERCOLOR PRINT // Studio Senn
Large Frame Gallery Wall Idea
This gallery wall has huge frames that I found from Ikea. I love how big they are, that they have dimension and a bonus is they have plastic instead of glass. This may seem strange but it’s ideal with a family full of kids! Here are the details on our Large Frame Gallery Wall:
- WHITE FRAMES // Ikea Ribba Frames
- 5 ARTWORK // Designed and painted by me! It represented our 5 kids (yes, it needs replaced since Zeke!)
- PHOTOGRAPHY // WhatNotShop Photography
- COME HOLY SPIRIT PRAYER PRINT // Love + Messiness Creative
- MIRROR // Hobby Lobby years ago
Mixed Wooden Frame Gallery Wall
I recently updated our dining room walls with this beautiful mixed wooden frame gallery wall. Most of these frames and artwork are new. This has been a blank wall for a long time so it is well deserved! I love how it came together, with a mix of beautiful scripture, family photos and Jesus at the Last Supper! The warm wood frames look great on the soft, warm gray walls and the white frames pop a bit. Here are the details on this gallery wall:
- JOSHUA SCRIPTURE ARTWORK // Hobby Lobby
- COLOSSIANS SCRIPTURE ARTWORK // Hobby Lobby
- LAST SUPPER ARTWORK // Our local Catholic store
- SQUARE FRAMES // Hobby Lobby (8″x8″) // PHOTOS: your’s truly
- WOODEN FRAME // Hobby Lobby // PHOTO: WhatNotShop Photography
- WHITE FRAME // I don’t remember…this one was shopped from home! // PHOTO: WhatNotShop Photography
Family Command Center Gallery Wall Idea
This wall is vital in our home! My kids know exactly where to look when they have a question about the schedule for the day! We try to gather everything here for my school aged kids, a bin for each of their important school papers, a bulletin board for easy pinning and the command center white board I created myself with my Cricut machine. Ever since I created this white board, we have used it every day and the kids are lost without it! Here are the details on this simple but powerful family command center gallery wall:
- BULLETIN BOARD & WHITE BOARD // Walmart
- WALL BINS // Hobby Lobby years ago (I used my Cricut for their names)
- JOHN SCRIPTURE PRINTABLE // Catholic Family Crate
I hope these ideas inspire you to work towards creating a beautiful and holy home for your family. You don’t have to break the bank to make a difference, nor do you have to do it all at once! These different walls you’ve seen were all done at different stages and times. Watching it come together is beautiful! God Bless +
