I have always been artistic and was definitely blessed with talent in the area! I really love to draw and paint and that love grew into the digital world with my love of graphic design!
With working full-time and having a small army of kids, I rarely have time to sit and create. After I had Kip, I knew I wanted to take advantage of my time at home and create something, anything really!
I had created a gallery wall in our den. In one large frame, I designed a print with a beautiful quote. I really wanted to paint something for the other large frame but could never think of exactly what I wanted. I even had the paper and water colors ready but nothing spoke to me.
INSPIRATION
Finally, one day, I had it! I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I had to get it done. I drew it all out, decided on the colors and started to paint. Seeing it all come out on paper was awesome! It is one of the best parts of creating…watching your imagination come to life!
The inspiration behind my art may be obvious…or not. The number 5. Surrounded by pentagons…a five sided shape. Five. Five blessings. Five miracles. Five little pieces of my world. My kids. My children are the most important thing to me, my reason for everything. Five. A number I would have never dreamed of.
Five. A number I would have never dreamed of.
So there it was…a frame sitting empty for what seemed like forever turned into (what I think) is an amazing piece of art. My outlet. One of the best ways I could think of to express how much they mean to me. I look at it every day in amazement of my enormously blessed life…blessed with both my talent and my children.
This year I have been trying to live more gratefully. This seems like another framed picture in another gallery wall, but to me, it’s so much more!
As hard as it is and how ever many excuses or road blocks come up…if you have something that you truly love…find time to do it! Even if it’s just once a year. Feel that spark again! Be grateful for it. Do it!
